2010-2012 6.7L Cummins Platform

2010-2012 CMD 6.7L Cummins

The 2010-2012 Cummins, like the earlier 6.7Ls uses an EGR and DPF system. They do not have the SCR system that requires the use of DEF. The emissions systems still create a lot of issues for the vehicle.

For tuning, EFILive is the platform of choice. Ez Lynk is another option for tuning. There is no option for a switch on the fly tune with Ez Lynk, which really makes EFILive the more preferred option. We are also able to get MM3 tuning by request, but we don’t sell any MM3 hardware.

A tune alone can add roughly 100rwhp, and closer to 200rwhp with a modified transmission. With the stock CMDs making about 350hp, a tune will bring them to about 450hp.

EFILive offers the option for either a single tune or a switch on the fly tune that uses a Fish Tuning CSP switch. This switch plugs right into the OBD2 port, so it’s a very easy install. You can get an AutoCal V3 loaded with the tune file, or if you already have to programmer, the tune file can be emailed to you. Each vehicle you flash with an AutoCal programmer requires a new license, but the AutoCal is capable of tuning hundreds of vehicles.

Ez Lynk also has a very simple flashing process. Using the Ez Lynk Auto Agent 3 plugged into your OBD2 port, you use an app on your smartphone to obtain your tunes, and flash them to the vehicle. It uses a cloud based system, so there is no physical file. This makes getting the tune files very quick, especially if you already have the programmer. Again, the biggest downfall is the lack of SOTF option available.

Transmission tuning is available for the 2010-2012 CMD Cummins that have the 68RFE transmission. The manual G56 and Aisin that comes in the Cab and Chassis do not have any TCM tuning availlable. The tuning has the ability to adjust line pressure, shift pattern and timing, and torque converter lockup schedule. It helps to increase the holding capacity of the transmission, as well as match the shift pattern and torque converter lockup schedule to the new torque curve of the ECM tuning.
